Kothambari Kashaya

Kashaya Contributor: Padmalatha M Shetty

My Wife and I  invited some of her friends to dinner at a local restaurant in Manipal. It was New Years Eve (Dec 31st 2009)  and we all had some delicious Indo-Chinese food.  The next day my wife and couple of her friends had this real bad feeling in their stomach along with an vomiting sensation. It must have been that yummy "Chicken Manchurian!!!!"  A queasy stomach is an awful feeling to have and it was very evident whenever we saw my wife. The treatment prescribed by my mom were, a) Lots of water b) Tender Coconut c) Pickle and Rice and d) Kothambari Kashaya.

Here is the recipe.. It worked pretty well and my wife was fine at the end of the second day
